Such a boy

Today, Joshua did something, that to me, exemplifies a boy. He was on his stomach, on the ground, playing with a lego toy he got from a McDonald's Happy Meal. It was so cute to me how engrossed he was in his playing.

It's raining it's pouring....

We let Emma and Joshua play in the puddles after most of the rain from Hurrican Ike had passed by. I remember doing that as a child and I wanted both Emma and Joshua to experience the fun of it so I let them do whatever they wanted. They thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

My baby is 2

Joshua turned two yesterday and I'm still in shock how quickly he has grown. I took out the old video tapes of when he was born and watched them yesterday...oh how sweet it was to see him as a baby, but also to see Emma loving her baby brother. Things have changed...of course, Emma does love her little brother, but 95% of the time, they are arguing. Oh that brother/sister relationship, how sweet it is!! Anyway, we won't celebrate his birthday until next Saturday due to a sickness, I will post pics then. To me, he's still my baby.

First day of school

Today was Emma's first day of school...she will be going three days a week now. She has the same teacher she had last year, which is wonderful. Her class is also very small again, total of 6 students. This year I'm actually watching my friends children...her son and daughter. Her daughter Lillie is Emma's best friend. She met Lillie last year in school and they've been connected at the hip since then. It worked out great, they get to see eachother 4 days a week! It's lovely for me, they play extremely well together. I took them to school today. At first I thought Emma might tear up, she said last night she was scared and that she might cry. I encouraged her in how much fun she will have this year and the fact that she has Ms. Linda again. Long story short, the day went well and Emma did not cry. Here are some pics of the girls today.

I'm ready to play

Emma's new favorite game is Pretty Pretty Princess. So, when she came downstairs to tell me she was ready to play, I had to smile and laugh. She was all dressed up in the jewlery eager to play the game, which I now must go play.
